Me too, but in this case I got the latter and that's good as I didn't want the stuff coming off in big flakes. I'm sure the fact that the undercoat was a flat finish contributed to that.

Nice hairspray chipping Andy, just right 
John, the method can be finicky with the results depending on a bunch of variables like basecoat finish, hairspray layer thickness, and hairspray and topcoat drying times.

The upper surfaces have now been coated with two blasts of Future and allowed to cure for over 48 hours. Today, I was able to flip the model over and address the back of the wheel wells. Recall that I cut out the molded-in fuel dump ducts as these were incorrectly located. With the well inserts now in place, this allowed my to finish the back wall of the wells as this would not have been possible before. The below before and after pics show the bare wall and then my addition of some stiffeners and the modified ducts. A splash of grey/green will finish this area and then the gear doors can go on.

Thanks all but I may do them over as they aren't quite right. They need to point more toward the outer walls to room for the bungees that attach to the back of the gear doors.

Thanks guys. I removed the parts and modified them slightly to allow a wider gap between the two ducts:

I'd considered adding the door cables and bungees to my Mossies, but as they can barely be seen, especially on the FB.VI which will be fastened to the display base, I didn't bother.
