Scale: 1/48th
Accessories: Red Roo Vokes filter. Aussie decal RAAF hurricane decal sheet.

This will be my attempt at modelling the only Hurricane to serve with the RAAF in Australia during WWII. I'll be doing the middle scheme of overall foliage green over skyblue with mid war PTO markings. For a brief history of V7476 see Welcome to ADF Serials. The Airfix kit looks pretty basic which suits me as I'll be building it straight OOB except the above mentioned tropical filter. My modelling bench is the dining room table and I have a three year old with sticky fingers so I'm usually pressed for time to get these models done. I'd hate to have an "attack of the 60 foot women" type of moment with an almost finished model!

Nice one Andy. Built quite a few of that kit over the last 30+ years. It might be old, and basic by today's standards, but it produces a nice looking Hurricane.

Nice choice, great history as being the Only Hurrie in RAAF service. This would be a good one for the HARS Museum. If I can convince them we should have this kind of display!!!!!

Did this one have the code "K", for kangaroo???? And the white Roo on the nose?

Thanks guys! Made a start on the very basic cockpit today. Not going to do to much with this one as most detail won't be seen through the closed canopy.

Nope not this one Bill. V7476 had three different colour scheme's whilst in the RAAF. The first was the standard RAF scheme she was delivered in. The second was overall foliage green with RAAF roundels, and finally stripped down to bare metal and silver with a red prop hub. The NMF would look great, but since my last few models were done in this I opted for the second scheme for something different.

Wings and fuselage halves are all together. Gun ports have been fitted and gaps filled with putty.
