I've had the same problem with PE too Bill at times. You either have to file down the part to fit, or scratch a new one.

This is all I have on your actuator:

From my local IPMS I got an actual picture, canopy off!!!!!!! So now I'm making my own, a little out of scale perhaps but you guys are the only ones who will know
 
Yeah I didn't hear, er read that Bill. I have one of those. Heck I've got several KH kit and I shudder to think about them but they work with some magic.
 
How about this for fits???????
Tail assembly to aft fuselage section.....
Enough to give one the Sh!tes!!
It sunk down during gluing, so I have to prop it up from inside!!!!
Not the First of the fits and sh!ts!!!!!
