Luftwaffe large estate from the possession of the Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves holder Major Theodor Weissenberger, holder of the Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves - the 10th most successful fighter pilot of the Second World War!
Awards:
Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves of the Iron Cross 1939. The Knight's Cross is a product by Klein & Quenzer, stamped "800" silver on the back. The Oak Leaves is a typical product by Godet, stamped "900" and "21" on the back, complete with a ready-made collar. Worn a lot, condition 2-.
Also another Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves of the Iron Cross 1939. The Knight's Cross is a product by Steinhauer & Lück, stamped "800" on the back. The Oak Leaves is a typical product by Godet, stamped "900" and "21" on the back. Worn a lot, condition 2-. The Knight's Cross was denazified in 1945 by Weissenberger while in US captivity.
German Cross in Gold, heavy version by Deschler, with 4 rivets on the back. Worn, with enamel damage on the swastika, condition 2.
Pilot's Badge of the Luftwaffe. Fine zinc, made by BSW, condition 2.
Iron Cross 1939 1st class. Worn, condition 2.
Front flight clasp for fighters in gold with pendant "400". Non-ferrous metal version, one holding bar on the pendant is missing (can be restored on request), condition 2.
Winter Battle Medal, field clasp with 4 awards, 2 glider pilot badges.
4 shooting sticks, lovingly made by the comrades, hand carved and painted, with all the kills up to the 200th on July 5th, 1944, belly landing, jumping out of the plane in 1942, damaging a submarine, destroying a train, etc. Attached are several beautiful reproduction photos of Weissenberger, in which he can be seen with one of these shooting sticks.
Gift/medal box, made by the comrades. Made from aircraft sheet metal, very beautifully made with his initial "W" and the squadron and squadron crests.

Provisional certificate of ownership for the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross, awarded on November 13, 1942, issued November 16, 1942.
Certificate of ownership for the Wound Badge in Black, issued by the Staff of Jagdgeschwader 5 on June 22, 1944, with OU Geschwaderkommodore (wounded after emergency landing on June 8, 1944).
A total of 20 kill reports from the period May to July 1943. These are the 92nd to 104th kills, individually numbered. Each kill report consists of around 6 pages, consisting of the kill report, combat report, witness report, statement from the intermediate office, each signed by the group commander, Weißenberger and the eyewitness. 8 further kill reports from July 18th to July 25th, 1943 on the corresponding form, each signed by Weißenberger and the squadron leader.
Telegram from Adolf Hitler: "...I award you, as the 266th soldier of the German Wehrmacht, the Oak Leaves to the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross," dated August 2nd, 1943.
Provisional certificate of ownership for the Oak Leaves to the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross, awarded on August 2, 1943, issued August 3, 1943, OU "The Chief of the Air Force Personnel Office, Colonel General Loerzer".
Telegram from Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring, congratulations on the award of the Oak Leaves, dated August 5, 1943.
Most of the certificates are glued to a large sheet of paper.
Luftwaffe pay book, issued February 21, 1943, with a very nice portrait photo as a first lieutenant with the Knight's Cross and Oak Leaves. Full to the brim with all entries, all awards up to "3.12.44 pendant to the golden front flight clasp for the year of service "500", all promotions up to major on January 1, 1945, last entry January 30, 1945.
Luftwaffe military pass, issued August 28, 1936, full to the brim with all entries, promotions, medals, combat actions, etc. Last entry: "on May 4, 1945 near Peterskirchen (Upper Bavaria), taken prisoner by the Americans (in the area of the 14th USA Panzer Division). Gef. St. den 4.5.45 ".
Luftwaffe grey linen ID card for members of the flying personnel, issued 29th December 1944, with a nice uniform photo with Knight's Cross and Oak Leaves, valid until the 1st quarter of 1945.
1. Front performance book of 6./JG 5 with the recorded kills from No. 1 (24.10.1941) to kill No. 116 (13.10.1943), each kill described in detail. Stamped "Jagdgeschwader 7" dated 14.2.45 and signed.
2. Front performance book with the recorded kills from No. 117 (13.10.43) to kill No. 200 (25.7.1944), each kill described in detail. Stamped "Jagdgeschwader 7" dated 14.2.45 and signed.
Large congratulations certificate for the 200th aerial victory, issued by I/Jagdgeschwader 5, dated "In the West, July 1944". The certificate is artistically hand-painted on an original aviation map with the English Channel and the French/English coast and sealed with the JG 5 squadron crest.
Telegram from Field Marshal Sperrle: Congratulations on the 200th aerial victory, dated 26.7.1944. There are also 2 further telegrams from General Bülowius and General Terboven for the 200th aerial victory.
Congratulations certificate for the 200th kill from the air base command on behalf of the ground staff with 3 bottles of champagne.
A total of 17 further telegrams from various generals: Congratulations on the 100th aerial victory, on the award of the Oak Leaves, on the 150th kill, on promotions, etc.
Large congratulations certificate for the promotion to major. Hand-painted folding certificate, signed by the officers of I./JG 5, in a red linen folder.
Gift certificate "For the 30th birthday of our commander, Captain Theo Weißenberger, the officer corps of I./JG 7 presents a drilling" (hunting rifle), dated December 21, 1944.
Beer newspaper "Christmas 1944" of 2./JG 7, the cover with a colored picture of an Me 262 in front of a Christmas tree. Also another festival newspaper from the headquarters company.
7 Luftwaffe flight logs, covering the years 1937 to August 1942. From September 1941, front-line deployment in Bf110, enemy flights and recorded kills from No. 1 to No. 22 on August 14, 1942.
A total of around 30 newspaper clippings about Weissenberger's successes.
Also papers from the Third Reich: Voluntary Labor Service work pass, DLRG basic certificate and performance certificate with uniform photo, NSFK 4 flight logs, shooting log from 1941, driver's license from 1933, passport from 1938.
Old photocopy from release from US captivity, dated June 5, 1945, various papers and ID cards from the post-war period.
There are also numerous beautiful reproduction photos of Weissenberger with his planes, comrades, etc.

We were able to purchase this extensive estate directly from the family, enclosed with the son's original sales confirmation, dated November 2018.

Theodor Weissenberger (* December 21, 1914 in Mühlbach; † June 11, 1950 at the Nürburgring). In October 1936 he joined the 2nd Company of the 14th Aviation Replacement Department in Detmold. He was promoted to reserve sergeant on December 1, 1940 and joined Jagdgeschwader 77 in August 1941. On October 24, 1941 he achieved his first aerial victory, was promoted to reserve sergeant on February 1, 1942 and to lieutenant on July 1, 1942. In September 1942 he was transferred to the 6th Squadron of Jagdgeschwader 5. As a destroyer pilot, he had achieved 23 kills by then, after which he was awarded the German Cross in Gold. After another 15 aerial victories, he was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross on November 13, 1942. Promoted to First Lieutenant on June 1, 1943, he took over the 7th Squadron of Jagdgeschwader 5 as Squadron Commander on June 15, 1943. He was awarded the Oak Leaves after his 112th aerial victory on August 2, 1943. He took over as commander of the 6th Squadron on 14 September 1943 and became commander of the II. Group of the 5th Fighter Wing on 26 March 1944. On 1 June 1944 he was promoted to captain and on 3 June 1944 he became commander of the I. Group of the 5th Fighter Wing. On 25 July 1944 he achieved his 200th aerial victory and then retrained on the new Me 262 jet fighter. In November 1944 he became commander of the I. Group of the 7th Fighter Wing. On 1 January 1945 he was promoted to major and became commodore of the 7th Fighter Wing. By the end of the war Weissenberger had achieved 208 aerial victories in over 500 enemy flights. Weissenberger died in a racing accident at the Nürburgring on June 11, 1950. He is buried in the old cemetery in Langenselbold.
