(G9+DS) vic Ehren/Westfalen, 15 km W of Quakenbrück, probably in combat with a Halifax of 78
Sqdn. Credited with 4 victories. Buried in Oerlinghausen near Bielefeld.

KIA the night of 29/30 June, 1942 during an attack by a No. 78 Sq Halifax near Ehren/Quackenbrück, crashing at Westfalen, 15km W of Quakenbrück. His R/O-Gunner, Fw Heinz Werner was able to bail safely. On two previous occasions, the 110 was damaged; 45% at the Rheine airfield on 15 November, 1940 and again at Twente on 3 June, 1942 after his 2nd known victory. One known victory, a Wellington on 8 November, 1941, no location. A 2nd, a Wellington IV of RAF No. 57 Sq. 6 km north of Gilgehaus Germany the night of 2-3 June, 1942. The entire British crew were KIA. His 3rd, a Halifax on 9 June, 1942. His 4th, a Wellington IV of RAF No. 23 (OTU) at Azelo, 5 km N of Delden Holland, the night of 25-26 June, 1942. Added: Buried at Oerlinghausen, near Bielefeld (LOCS).
