Thanks everyone. Setting the bar Paul? That's just because Wayne hasn't built one yet!

Here are some detail shots as requested by Dan. Note that no weathering or touch up is done yet. The weird Polly Scale RLM 64 is not as blue as I'd like - closer to 76 than 65 but not worth fussing over.

Next step is to gloss coat with Future, add decals, then apply an acrylic white, combination spray and brush to represent the badly worn winter finish on this rig. I figure I can then scrape some of the paint away in the worn areas if needed. Then I'll apply a flat coat. The last photo below is the machine I'm doing as a reminder to get an idea.

Thanks again for your interest.

Thank-you Terry. Take the praise when you can get it! It was actually Wojtek who posted that picture in a separate thread. It's a little clearer than the one I already had.

Updates showing white wash applied. First, a coat of Future was applied 3 days ago and allowed to dry fully. Next, Polly Scale flat white thinned down 50% was sprayed on with with a fine tip airbrush in a patchy pattern with continuous reference to photo and profiles. Once the white was dry, a light sand with wet 400 grit paper was done to simulate a bit more wear of the white, especially on the tops of the wings around the cockpit and filler caps.

I orginally was going to apply the decals first but decided against it. Once these are on, I'll do a little more white washing with a brush around the crosses to simlaute these having been painted around by hand.
