Nice work Harrison. As others have said you will see improvement with each model you build. Just be patient and try to learn something with each build.

You did it H !! Well done on your first model. Now, concentrate on the skills learned, develop them, expand and improve them. After a couple of models, you'll start to see a difference, and things will become easier. Yes, you'll make mistakes, we all do, but you'll learn from them. As has been mentioned, put this model somewhere safe, and in the coming years, drag it out and look at it, see how the skills have developed.
Before you get to the painting stage on your current builds, throw together a cheap kit, and use it as a 'hack' to practice painting techniques. Make sure you always stir the paint well, use a touch of thinners if neccessary, and ensure the paint is 'laid off', that is, brushed - out fully, to avoid thick areas and brush marks. Keep practicing, using the same model - the paint can be rubbed down if required to give a fresh working surface - a wing can be used for one colour, another wing for camouflage patterns and so on. Try to learn how different paints, and colours, behave, and what is needed to ensure a smooth finish. And always remember, two or even three thin coats are always better than one really thick coat!
