Vic, no worries mate - and thanks!
That's a great photo in it's own right, being same time and place, and aircraft in same stripped condition as Braunen 4 - great for details!
Thanks too Andy, Paul and Wayne for extra input/ info.

Time is scarce as usual, so no speed records here. However, first cuts made, and broad tail dry fitted.
The lower fueslage of the Academy kit bulges out a little at the extension point, which will be sanded down to correct 'box' form once fueslage halves together.

Pics from top:
1. BEFORE
2. First cuts
3. First dry fit
4. AFTER - 2nd dry fit after intial sanding - to be completed when fueslage halves joined
5,6,7. Details of standard and broad tails (incl. W.nr.500645), and of 'box' fueslage extension (from 'German Aircraft Interiors 1935-1945 Vol.1, K.A. Merrick)

Evan

It would be a compliment to even be compared to him - my skills still fall short though! :)

And cheers Dr.Fox, yours and many others' advice has been studied and followed too - long may it continue!

Cheers Andy!

Do you mean the small pieces cut from the cowls? These are the wing root fairings, which will be cemented to the main planes first, thinned to scale thickness, and faired in later with the fueslage when the two are joined.
