FW 190 and body of pilot found recently in Normandy

It's entirely probable. I remember a TV show not so long ago where they dug either a Spitfire or Hurricane up out of someone's back garden. It was in one of the south eastern counties and the owner of the property had no idea that it was there!

you think of all the thousands of planes that went down all over uk/europe, africa, asia, austrailia, japan, etc....its staggering! they will be finding them for years and years.
 
The aircraft was an Fw 190 A-6, Wn. 550175, built by AGO Flugzeugwerke Oschersleben. The werknummer was recovered at the crash site.

The pilot was Feldwebel Hermann ELFLEIN, of 2./JG 2. He had three known victories.
