Actually, "favorite aircraft of WWII" is hard to nail down to one. The XP-55 has always been in interest to me, though it never went into production or flew in any combat. I could say that the P-51 or the P-47 or P-38 were may favorite. The B-17 or the Lancaster. The B-25 all hold something that draws an interest. This aircraft hold an interest for the unique design innovation. Designed before the US was involved with the war the pusher with the swept back wings and the forward canards were somewhat outside of the box. Though it proved not to be any better than designs already in production doesn't draw anything back from it. Three were built. The first crashed while trying stall test. That's when the wing tip verticals were designed. they were built into the third and backdated into the seconded. Of the three the second is the soul survivor. On display at the Zoo Air Park in Kalamazoo Micha gain. That's your favourite? or just for this GB?
Don't think it will need them. Only 4g in the nose.Seen some metal landing gear somewhere last night
