And in a few moments of insanity and I hardly know how to own up to this (Probably the heat and dehydration...although that can't be right on account of the sheer volume of Makers Mark put away each night :) ) I took some photo's of those new-fangled things called jets.

I know right !.....aaaarghhh !

Thanks all :)

Time for some pics n vids of the formations that I saw....I missed out on a load as was busy being Eric's Crew Chief and doing Chipmunk stuff ! :)
First off is Team Aeroshell. These guys just plane (pun intended :) ) rock with their close display and even more spectacular twilight / evening display.

Quick vid from the cell-phone of the opening ceremony. Very difficult to to stand to attention with cap off and across your heart....and feeling a real dumbass as I was videoing at the same time. Mentally I was yelling out the Anthem !!

What some jets tried....

The Props did better :)

Love the sound of those planes. That prop sound with the jets is music.

Thanks all

Another random selection of pics of things that caught my eye while wandering around and not in any particular order.

If you are ever looking for that ultra elusive part, then it's a pretty sure bet you can find it amongst the traders. Loved the Dak coach and the 60% scale '87...this thing is powered by a V6, taxies great and was up for grabs for $15K

I also liked the carbon '51's that were also for sale, they looked really cool

IMG_2416.jpg

I tracked down Vincent and Katrina and had a really good long chat with them about their Silver Dragon....45 minutes in the right seat chatting about plans !!.

Also had a good look around 'Scrappy...wowzer, what a unique airplane !

Thought this was a good idea to get around the grounds :)

Sandbar Mitchell's progress is simply staggering...I wanted to take the nose section home but for some reason they wouldn't let me

And then there was this beastie. Dell Collers Jet Waco is totally bonkers and awesome at the same time. Certainly make you look twice when you see a bipe climbing vertically like a homesick Angel

Great stuff Gary.
A para drop with other aircraft in the air, or on the ground with props turning, would break all the rules in the UK !!!
So you don't think we should do this at Legends when and if it ever returns ? :)

I took this on the Saturday night show from the AVC Race enclosure... Airventure 2022 Saturday night Fireworks

That's Nate Hammond in his Super Chipmunk joining in. Apparently he had something 400lbs of pyros attached to his Chippie !
