Jan Jones was a professional acro pilot that flew one of those Extras. She used to come to our airfield to practice in the winter. One Memorial Day weekend in the mid-90's she was flying to a performance in NJ and lost her engine. There was a nice open field under her, but they were mowing it and she decided to make a low pass to warn the mowers. She made a low pass, pulled up, and stall/spun.
