Veronica Lake, a real Hollywood legend.
According to the IMDB, She was also...An accomplished aviatrix, she took up flying in 1946 and in 1948 flew her small plane from Los Angeles to New York.
Her star dimmed through the 1950's and by 1962, she was found working as either a waitress or a bartender (depending on which story you believe), under another name.
She passed away from hepatitis in 1973.
Here she is with then husband, Andre De Toth, giving him a Navion as a Valentine's day present...

Today we recognise and celebrate , Sue Dinkelacker (née Beatie). Sue matriculated from St. Andrew's school in Joburg in 1980 and qualified as a helicopter pilot a few years later, flying commercially for Court Helicopters until around 2000, when she moved to Malaysia and then New Zealand, where she flies choppers to this day, in the aero-medical industry.

Sue achieved 10,000 hours on helicopters today; an incredible achievement.
