Impressive pics, Hugh.
I remember my father purchased a SP record of "The Bridge on the River Kwai" to listen to it repeatedly when I was a kid.
He loved whistling it at home but I had no idea what he was thinking or feeling.
He might have only wanted to confirm the war was over.
 
If I may comment my impression as a Japanese frankly, it looks a good path to walk for hours, up to 3 or 4 hours with no rest, to me but I know I am wrong. Thanks Hugh. Your pics are very educational.
