Looking really great Vaughan. :) If I recall, didn't Rommel have one as his personal plane to checkout the battle field before a battle?

Terry Funny you should mention that I was thinking along the lines of a crane fly. Andy the canopy should be ok it was just a loose fit the internal frame doesn't get in the way the other gaps are where the lower sections of the canopy are added. Night Fighter Nut I think your correct about Rommel. Here's a few photos to explain the canopy.

Haven't checked in on your builds for a while Vaughn, I must say you certainly have the touch. Nice going my friend.

Thanks Vic for your kind comments, Wayne I haven't tried the lower sections in situ yet. I'm glad that I invested in the Eduard masks which should help when it all goes together.

Thanks Martin
Little progress on this one over the last 2 weeks. The fuselage is now together requiring a fare bit of pressure to keep it closed. The canopy is masked up using Eduards pre-cuts, they weren't the easiest of masks to apply as they curled up once removed from the backing sheet. Prop is now sprayed and the decals applied just a little weathering to add.

Terry they are Berna Clamps (invented by a frenchman a Dr. Philippe Berna would you believe). I bought them from Modelezone shortly before they closed down when tools and paints were 1/2 price so they only cost a fiver. This is the first time I've used them and they're quite effective. The jaws are made of a soft plastic and the rod is carbon fibre. Depending on how hard you squeeze the jaws directly relates to how hard they grip. I think you can get them on eBay for a reasonable price.

Good info in that link Andy, thanks. Looks like they could be very useful - especially where 'normal' clamps go 'Zzzzzpp !' and fly off across the room !
