how common is such a sighting in the Netherlands, Marcel?

You mean the roe deer? Here on the island they are quite common. We have a reasonable large population. Sometimes I see them in a group running through the pastures and sometimes I encounter them on their own, although this close is quite rare. The estimation is that in the Netherlands, there are around 70,000 of these animals in total.

The Lion Hill, erected by the Dutch after the battle to remember the fallen. It is suppost to be at the spot where the Prins van Oranje was wounded in the battle. It's 40m high and above you have a great view over the battlefields

Hoeve Hougoumont where soldiers from Hanover, together with British fended off many attacks the whole day long. It was a massacre, at least 6000 people died around this building. The Hoeve was burned down and only a few buildings remain. It's great to visit and they have a very inventive lightshow about the battle. Very well done and something you have to see.

The well of Hougoumont. If you know "Les Miserables", this is the well where the French prisoners were tossed in. The reality is different. When they excavated the well, only sheep bones were found.

The chapel of Hougoumont, by miracle saved from the fire, still stands and is a sacret place.

Jesus in the chapel. His leg was burned in the fire (it's missing), but the flames extinguished miraculously at that exact moment.

The 'knekelhuis' at Napoleon's headquarters. The bones of many French soldiers can be seen inside.

Napoleon's headquarters before the battle. You can see his bed there where he slept and the table he planned the battle on.
