Panel lines do look a bit overdone. The choice of runway is a bit strange - cobblestones? Still, great looking model - a lot of work gone into that one.

First off, it is a very nice model, presumably 1/32nd scale?
However, as Wayne stated, there's something not quite right, the first being the out of context display base - that detracts at least 50% from the presentation.
The attempt at weathering to portray the really worn look of a carrier-borne aircraft started quite well, but has been ruined by over definition of the panel lines - a lighter tone, and not as heavy, would have complimented the paint fading perfectly. Also, the distinctive multiple tones of the bare metal of the 'stabilators' is not shown, the latter being rather bright, and the over-shiny tail area and drag 'chute housing look out of place. Not sure about the Sidewinders - even early models had a different coloured seeker head, but I could be wrong on this point.
Final verdict - a model which, although very good, could have been superb.

Reminds me of the panel lines on the Beaufighter..... Don't get me wrong though, bl**dy nice builds!

Agree on the panel lines but to me the rivets are far too eye-popping as well.

Yep, that's what I meant by all the line work being too heavy. The rivets would show around their circumference, when close up, due to moisture trails etc, as would the panel lines, particularly around areas of increased or disturbed air flow, such as hinges, antenna etc. But the whole lot is too pronounced, making it look like a printed card model. Also, check the anti-slip walkways on the top of the engine sponsons - not one sign of wear, tear, or staining. There should be at least some semblance of use here, plus the trails down the sides of the fuselage, left by the rubber heels of the ground/deck crew's boots. All of these things need to tie in, in order to make the overall finish believable, and appear 'right'.
The major detraction on first view is the base - even for a carrier aircraft visiting a land base, it's not a 'believable' scene. Why cobbles, why so narrow, how come the grass is as neat as a bowling green, and where is the aircraft heading to? Perhaps it's made a visit to the local golf club, and is heading out to the first green ?!!!
