Llooks like the ole Monogram 1/72 kit from the late 1970s. Built for long-range bomber escort, she actually was decently successful at the beginning of the Korean war intercepting Yak-9s and Il-2s attacking Kimpo airport. Pretty much phased out in that war afterwards, if I recall correctly. Packed quite a punch with eight .50cal BMGs mounted centerline.
Doesn't look anymore silly than some of the German Zwilling (sp?) ideas with Bf-109s and such. And frankly much more operationally successful.
