Nice ones. Agree with Matt about the Phantom, and the F5 although very good, is a little too defined on the access panels. Trying to figure out if the Phantom is Royal Hellenic Air Force ?

and Third place an F-14

Thought this thread was finished Wayne, even so glad to see it back.

Re the Phantom, think the squadron C.O. needs to find out why the wash pan in not in operation, the RAF were quite particular about keeping machines clean if not in hostile operations.

Have to agree with the panel lines on both the F-5 and F-14 but not an easy thing when working in desert tones.

Its got US Stars and Bars Matt....just below the Intakes.

Next up Me P1101

Would love to know the provenance of that F-14. My first thought was Top Gun adversary, but didn't think they used F-14s in adversary role and thus immediately went to Iranian as they have a similar camo scheme from the past. I can't imagine a modeller doing such great work and not at least getting the camo scheme right for the nation operator. But perhaps the modeller has a niche reference that I don't know of.

Here is an F-14A painted in IRIAF livery supposedly used at Top Gun. I have no idea if that is true or whether the pic is just a Shah era predelivery pic. I suspect the latter given the age of vehicles, but could have been a late production run airplane that was withheld. I don't know. :dontknow:

Agree with Terry. Overdone preshading on the P1101. Had a good discussion with Spencer Pollock about this at the Canadian show. Basically, he was saying that preshading can be a great technique but if you stop when you get to this point, you ain't done yet.

While I have not even remotely mastered a "pre-shading" ability, that was funny.

The F-4 in #936 is from the 339th Hellenic Air Force

You were actually correct on your first guess, it's an F-14 from the Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center
