Nice job of smoothing the cowling into the fuselage.

After over three hours of taping and covering up, we got to paint the
schwartzgrun, today. We let it sit for four hours, then we took all the
tape and paper off. I'm going to let it get good and dry for a couple of
days, then add the canopy, the antenna wire, and the decals. My thanks
to Wayne for the camo pattern.

Now to start taping the stuka....

There seems to be some question as to whether the dunklegrun was labeled
correctly. Wurger says the difference between the two camo colors [RLM70
and RLM71] is barely perceptable. I'll have to check this evening.... I need
to know before I paint the stuka !!

Took some pic's of the bf109 this evening. It's all done except for adding a
White 2, and the unit emblem, a Red Cat on a round white background. I
will have to take some pic's of the bf109, the Stuka and the FW-190.....
My personal Luftwaffe !

Oooooh.....boy, oh boy.The bird looks cool.Well done Dear Friend.Beautiful....:D :D :D

As I said in my last PM to you here you are two profiles of Bf109.The first one is of Bf109B.Its markings were the early variant of the Stab Schwarme markings. The second one presents Bf109E type with 4./JG52 emblem.I think that it was the model designer"s intention to use the kind of markings for the model. Are these the same that came with the model kit?. If yes I'm right.Unfortunately the Bf109 in the second profile was Emil but not Berta/Ceasar/Dora.When you started the build we agreed it was early Bf109, probably Berta or Dora variant. So what we have here now, almost finished Bf109B/D and E variant decals.I think you should try to adapt these decals you have to the model or make the correct markings by yourself. But choice is yours.

Wojtek: The Red Cat decal that came with the kit is a little different. I will
have to scan it and put up a pic. I like the upper of the two pic's.
Perhaps I can do a little repainting. Shouldn't be too hard. My model
has a radiator like the upper pic, just a dab of red on the tail should do it.
I see what you and Wayne were talking about with the RLM 70 and 71.
The colors are very close....

Charles

Concerning these RLM 70 and RLM 71, yes they were quite close. In the B&W pictures Bf109s painted with them look like being painted with one colour. When pics were taken enough close up the difference was visible finally.

As far as repainting id concerned , Don't do it please !!!!!. The model looks great and there is no need to correct anything. It will be easier to make a new decals for any particular Bf109B or D than repainting.

Now I'm sure I've gotten you wrong.:D

Here other profiles that can be taken into consideration.
