Very good work for a first attempt. It seems to be neatly assembled, no glue marks or other nasties. As for the paint, I'm with the others; a coat of 'Dark Yellow', the dark sandy colour I think I saw in one of your shots, is good enough to start, then, if you can, some light streaks of green and red-brown. As Matt said, no need to go for authenticity at this stage - it's a learning curve for the painting. Any 'mistakes' you make, either in application or colour, or trying to get the 'fiddly', all ready assembled small bits done, will be lessons for future reference.

BTW, many AFV kits now have plastic tracks, in sections and lengths, in order to give a more realistic appearance.
