Wurger, Wayne, et al..... The fuselage is ready to be sanded, and then
covered. The rudder elevator were covered tonight also (no pic's
of them). Here's some pic's of where we stand at the moment. (One
with a flash and one w/o)

I tried the new covering technique on the tail ass'y. It's pretty good, but I
don't know how it would do if you were covering a large area.

UNDOUBTEDLY, I say it again these circular have an enourmous diameter.Besides,either the symbol was as a solid painted circle or it was a solid painted one with a white or black thin outlone.
 
Hallo Charles,
The fuselage looks great.There shouldn't be any problem to re-build the A-3 top of the fin into A-4 one.
 
Wurger Wayne: I thought we were going to do it as an A3 ??? I just
finished sanding the fuselage, tonight. I will give it a coat of clear dope
to seal the pores of the balsa (This is the new technique for covering).

As for the rudder, I just finished fabricating the antenna lead in for the
A3 ! It you look at what Wayne uploaded, I did the first one, rather than
the mast. However...... it's not too late to make it into a mast ! I must
admit.... I am confused.... A3 or A4 ??....

Hallo Charles,
It looks great.It is really not too late to change it into A-4 one.Which version will you choose it depends on you only and your skills.In addition,there are much more camo patterns for later Wurger versions than for early ones.For instance, the A-3 and A-4 of JG54 used in Russia were paited quite different from Wurgers used at the Western front.Both camo paterns,I mean the winter and summer ones are very interesting because of the colour set which was used.
There three examples.Source unknown.

Hi Charles, great work so far, mate the choice is still and always yours, it's your bird. I provided both images for your review and choice.
If you want the desert camo then an A-4 will be more accurate, Rudorffer's aircraft (profiled on page 1) becomes a good choice, I think I have at least one photo of yellow one somewhere, will have to find it for you
Once again Wurger provides some more excellent choices for other camo schemes.
 
OK.... it will be an A-4, in desert camo, I hope. Will re-do the rudder mast
today. Hope to get the fuselage covered, too. Thanks for the info, guys...

Charles, the camo I suggested in my PM is the middle profile from Wurger. I couldn't find much desert camo and bow to Wurger's extensive knowledge of it. But that winter camo from JG 54 would be a good alternative.

Wurger, that first profile is what I based one of my models on but...on a Dora!! Shoulda done some research first.

I'm a bit impressed in positive way Njaco ,of course.D-9 with JG54 markings and the winter camo.Very nice.Although the camo was not possible the model looks really good.Simply it is a "What if " class model.What is the firm of the kit?Looking familiar to.
 
Wurger, Njaco Wayne: It's settled. The A4 in desert camo. I re-did the
rudder mast this morning. Hope to get the fuselage covered today.

Ran into a problem, today...... almost screwed up. I have the fuselage
about half covered, and it dawned on me I had not installed the rubber
motor. Deja vu with the floatplane ! I've stopped long enough to get
my thoughts together for the rubber motor. I'm in the process of trying
to make a three bladed prop. The spinner is such flimsey material, and I
have to glue prop blades to it, plus I have to install the wire for the rubber
motor. Think I solved half the problem... I filled the spinner up with hot
glue, making a small balsa circle to set right in the top of it, with the
nose button and the wire in the center. After it dries it should be solid
enough so I can work with the prop blades. After the rubber motor is in-
stalled I can finish covering the fuselage. Maybe pic's later tonight.

Ok, guys.... here's the fuselage all covered. The open section at the top
is for the rear section of the canopy. One pic with a flash and one w/o.
The wings are next, and in between I'll make a three bladed prop.
