Very nice Charles. Can't wait to see the finished product. Your build alongs have me thinking of putting together one of these types of models.

P.S. Nice to see someone else with almost as much clutter in thier work area as me;)

Mr. C, a C-note sent to my address will keep this post from your Missus. I have to say I fell out of my chair when I read that one.

Matt: The check is in the mail.....

The temperature in my "shop" was 93F [34C] at 1900 last night. With the
help of a big fan blowing the hot air out, I got it down to 83 at 2100. So
I sanded on one of the wheel pants til 2145. Got the leading edge of one
of them where I want it.

Tonight I worked on the Stuka wheel pants. I have both of them shaped and
sanded just about where I want them. Both have been given one coat of
sanding sealer and will dry overnight. Tomorrow it will be more light sanding,
more sanding sealer, etc, etc. Probably have some pic's tomorrow evening.

Hi Guys: The Stuka wheel pants are just about where I want them. They need
a bit more sanding and some more sanding sealer. I don't want the balsa to
absorb the paint when I get around to it. Third pic down is a dry fit to the
wing. I am pleased with the fit, and won't make any changes to the upper
portion of the pants. The last pic is the thermometer in my garage. The
outside temp is 96F !! Suggestions ??? I'm all ears....

I love the pic of the instructions that says "Machine gun - Make from scrap balsa". Somewhere, someplace a German armorer is rolling in his grave.

Good eyes, Matt... that's for the rear facing MG. Now if this was a plastic
scale model kit, the MG would have been included ! And the wheel pants
would have looked like Stuka wheel pants w/o scratch building. As for the
cooler climate, think I'll stay in Va. Beach, tho. The climate agrees with my
JM's. Anyhow, at 2110 the wheel pants got a light sanding and more sealer.
The bottom of the wings has been covered, and those beautiful red wheels
have been painted black. Tomorrow the wings get a 50/50 clear
dope/thinner paint job, and the wings get mated to the fuselage.
