With trepidation cos although I lurk in the background, I am no where near as active on here as I once was !, here's one of my recent mugshots.
Oshkosh was a real blast this year for me for a number of reasons
1 - I was Crew Chief for 6 of the DH Chipmunks we had lined up on the turf in the Trainer / Liaison section
2 - I was Crew Chief for a T-33
3 - Got to fly in to Osh on Sunday eve in the nose of Gosshawk Unlimited's awesome Privateer... one hour 45 mins of bliss
4 - Got to fly out of Osh in the T33...17K altitude at 385kts and 10 mins stick time too...then drove back to Osh and flew back out in the formation of 4 Chipmunks returning to Waukesha at 2.5K altitude and just under 100Kts
And more importantly stumbled across an equipment failure that l only noticed when looking at photo's I'd just taken on my cell phone while flying !. Those of you who put with me on social media would have seen my post about this and my reason for the post, but I'll add the text here for those who don't (Why don't you ?
)
Soo here's an important safety reminder to keep checking your equipment even after you have put it on, and recheck every now and then !
Took this pic and a few others on the way up and noticed the oxy pipe had detached from my mask when I looked at the pictures…I did not know it had come apart and we were on the way up to 17k
Hastily resolved and no after effects
Keep those checks going throughout each flight !!!
The Force is strong with me !
