Very nice shots of some very nice material Merv. Makes me a bit jealous it does. It looks like the Colt just got a bath to. There are a lot of interesting birds there to. Thanks for sharing sir.
Thanks Aaron, Shinpachi and VB for checking them out, no problem Shinpachi I thought the VAL look pretty awesome, I'll have to check out the markings for the history of that aircraft. I have lived in Riverside for 35 yrs and this was the first time I have been to this museum and it's only four miles away, shame on me I thought the SR-71 was pretty cool .
The Val markings represent the Hikotaicho Lt. Takashige Egusa (referenced as being BI-231) from the IJN Carrier Soryu during the early part of 1942. on April 5th Egusa led the second Ceylon raid and his formation of planes attacked and sunk two British ships, the HMS Dorsetshire and HMS Cornwall.
Hey I had a fantastic day yesterday, I had a winning ticket in the drawing for a flight in the Stearman, at the Planes of Fame, one of my dreams came true. I don't have any in-flight pictures, I gave my camera to my daughter to get some shots of us. My buddy Brian (Wheels) did take some video from the ground. I guess next time I'll have to take two cameras. The flight was fantastic, the first time I've flown in anything except a Huey or a jet-liner. I guess you can tell it doesn't take much to get me exited In the pictures I'm the one with the Grey hair not the Blond.
The discussion of the day was the P-38, they flew two, 23 Skidoo and P-38 981.
