Don't blame you M! The only things I know about floating things is that, one end is normally sharp, and the other blunt, and that apparently you can put a boat on a ship, but not a ship on a boat! Oh, and why do they call submarines 'boats' when they are designed to sink!?
But seriously, I'm guessing that the kit is the old Matchbox one, which had fantastic reviews when first released. Like to see some 'build' shots when you find the time!

So you are better than an old Admiral who getting on a board and standing on the bridge always took out from a pocket of his uniform a small piece of paper then had a quick look at that.Everyone was very curious what was written there. Some day when the Admiral was about being retired one of peeping sailors stole him the leaf and showed to others. There was written " In front of me - the prow, behind me - stern.

Wojtek: I heard that when I was in boot camp in 1951, only the piece of
paper read, "Left is port, Right is starboard".

I'll post pics of the Corvette build when i'm doing it, its for my dad, he ran away from home when he was 16, lied about his age and joined the navy, he spent 9 years on a Corvette. I want to give it to him for his 70th birthday next year. I'll have to modify it to an Irish Navy tub, the LE Macha.

Nice collection TL. Revell have re-released the Matchbox kit of the Merlin engined Halifax, which is a nice kit with MANY options and spares.
Muller, I like your idea of the Corvette as a gift for your Dad. If you think you might need some 'ready made' accessories - railings, ladders, chains etc., a company called Mantua Models do ranges of all sorts of shipy things, in various scales. I saw some of their stuff on their website, the place I got my compressor from. Mantua Models U.K. Ltd will find the web-site for the nearest one, as I believe they are an Italian, or maybe a Spanish company.

Well shes almost finished.I got to redo the plane wing resand it and this time I am using decal material for the stripes,oh yea they gave me decals for insignia, horay. The rigging got easier and I went and added the flagstaff up front which by the way they gave me no flags so something else to make.I added railing to the gangplanks and the hoops above the anchors is solder.
