I have been looking through the model magazines from 1955 and have not yet found it, where a modeler built a large R/C battleship. The pictures show it in operation being approached by two guys in a canoe. The turrets rotate towards the canoe along with the smaller calibre weapons. As the canoe continues, the blanks are fired. Thirty eights and .22s envelope the canoe in smoke. Last shot shows both guys in canoe furiously paddling away. Such fun would be frowned on today.
