was out walking last week with my daughter and my dog, snapped a few pics of the countryside up here near middlesborough useing my mobile phone's camera

Nice country but what is that green stuff on the ground and what is that silvery stuff the dog is sniffing at?

I will try and get a local photo tomorrow if I can find my camera in the dust

So that is what running water looks like - it feels so long since I saw any at home.
Last year was very dry. At this time of year we should have received over 700mm.
This year we have had 208.5mm including the 8 mm last week (giving us a whole 10mm for August)

Few pics from my walking trip.

yesterday we walked from Craster on the Northumberland coast to Low Newton a few miles further north then back again.

Dunstanburgh castle, the castle fell into disrepair after the war of the roses !

the castle was built on a Lava outcrop from an ancient volcano, saw this interesting rock formation at the base of the castle

Good stuff Karl.
Been a long time since I did that route, and I remember photographing that same rock formation, from the same angle !
Looks like the weather is holding up nicely too.
