Good old Beecham and his rail cuts in the early 60's, made for some nice walks around England.

Nice location and nice pics you handsome bast@rd.................

last week i saw a dark streak land in my back garden, it turned out to be a falcon that had caught a crow and was ripping it up as i watched, i didn't manage a picture then but yesterday it was back this time with a sparrow !

we have loads of birds in my garden and we have seen this bird of prey a few times sat in a tree in my garden so this time i managed to shoot a few pics of what i think is a peregrine falcon with the sparrow it had caught and was killing it on my fence.

ok spent most of last week in north Yorkshire, only about an hour or so south of where i live.
my Daughter was doing a work experience at a Zoo there so we stayed in a small hotel and toured the countryside while she was working, the weather was rubbish for the most part but i got a few decent shots of local buildings and countryside.

Good pics mate. I used to stay in Helmsley when on business in the area. It's where I wanted to book us in when we went to Elvington in March, but the old inn was being refurbished.

Nice pics Karl, brings back memories. When my daughter got married in Helmsley, Methodist church. It was going to be a dry reception out in some little village hall, so between transfer from church to reception, a group of us stopped off at the 'Feathers' for a couple of jars first.

The irony of this is we got stuck behind a herd of cows being moved from field to farm yard which made us late for the photo call………….Shame on me.

Great shots of the old buildings, you can just picture the old knights on their horses ridding up to the walls and the fair maidens greeting them from battle. What a romantic :|
