Very cool, many thanks for sharing.Hell
Here some books which I have
Start with Queensland Air Museum, in Caloundra. They have been growing their collection, including books, memorabilia, in addition to the actual aircraft airframes in their care. Enthusiastic, with a lot of ex-RAAF amongst their volunteers. This a little difficult for me as I have at least 8000 books, magazines & memorabilia that I have been collecting for the past 60 years, with the earliest originals being from the 1910's. Due to space restrictions, the majority of them are boxed up & stored.
I am at the stage that I want to donate them to people or organisations that can appreciate them.
If anyone is interested or knows a museum or similar that would be, please contact me. I am in Australia, so sending things overseas could be cost prohibitive.
Thanks.
Hi ColFord, Thanks for the info, I have been in touch with some of these and I have already donated quite a few books to the Qld Air Museum. I will follow up the others. I had not thought of Life Line's Book Fair & will contact them.Start with Queensland Air Museum, in Caloundra. Next, Moorabbin Air Museum down in Melbourne, they have a good library and extensive collection, always looking to grow their collection.
Historical Aircraft Restoration Society - HARS - down at Shellharbour Airport near Wollongong, are also always on the lookout for items to boost their library and collection.
If you get to the point where you want to sell your books, there are a couple of specialist 2nd hand military booksellers who are always on the lookout for books. Alexander Fax Booksellers in Canberra is a good one.
Otherwise, if you get no takers, Lifeline Crisis Counselling use 2nd hand book sales as a major source of their income. They have knowledgable people volunteering with them who help them set up their regular 2nd hand book fairs - they have special sections for different subjects and all the income from sales helps support their work.
