Went out a bit last Sunday but pretty much got skunked. Traffic was down and I missed a Amtrak at Point of Rocks MD by being out of position when it went by, Later when we got to Brunswick MD with the only real catch of the day I found myself on the wrong side of the tracks and shot it against the light and the other stack train they had in the yard had a problem of some sort and never moved, so that was it for Brunswick and the only CSX trains I saw for the day.
We moved on south stopping at Point of Rocks and Dickerson- stations pictured, and last waited at Barnsville- the signals showed a west bound coming but nothing ever showed before I lost the light.
Last photo is me waiting at Barnsville- Barnsville sets at the crest of a long grade and I have been trying to catch a train here over a year and haven't yet. It's a place on the line you should just walk up to and see a train in a short amount of time-unless you are me- it's my White Whale.
The look on my face says it all...one day..I'm not giving up...

No doubt these are my last shots of the year- Happy New Years!

Great stuffs as always guys! That Southern Pacific is one of my all time favorites. Growing up in central Iowa, I mainly remember seeing the ugly green and yellow of Chicago Northern, until they went out of business, and Union Pacific became more common to see. So these pics are great stuff to see.
