What material was the plane made out of Vic?

Can't rightly remember the material of this replica Jim, the original would have been mostly wood skeleton frame with fabric cover, though later production of the 'D' for the fleet air arm was an all metal aircraft. As for this replica, I got the feeling that it was a fabric cover over possibly a marine ply, there was certainly a lot of coats of paint, assumedly as a protection against it's close proximity to the salt water.

Thanks for looking in folks.

Today I'm going to the Hieronymites Monastery also known as the Jerónimos Monastery which was only a short walk from our last stop. It's obviously a very popular tourist spot as there was a crush of people both inside and out.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, its in the late Portuguese Gothic architecture and I believe refurbished sometime in the recent past as there is an astronaut carved in the main entrance masonry decoration.

Thanks guys. Trying to get myself back on track here, must finish this holiday before starting the next……………………..I wish.

Okay, were done with Lisbon and now heading north with a couple of stops on the way. First stop is at Queluz Palace a little 18th century retreat in the town of Queluz. The building boasts some priceless Chinese art and china some of which is reportedly being sold back to China to help finance the renovation and upkeep of the place.
