Yep. Anything white needs to be printed on white decal paper, and this means planning the use of the finished decal. If it's something which can be trimmed around , then fine. BUT ! Something like the 'roo from Qantas could be printed as a black outline only, on clear decal sheet, and then filled-in with white acrylic paint before use, making it easier than trying to hand-paint it on the model.
Talking of decal papers, I received my order today, from a place I decided to try for the first time, who supply all types of computer papers. Not knowing what it would be like, I only ordered a couple of sheets of each, to try out. Guess what? It's exactly the same stuff as supplied by another well-known supplier, and probably the same as in the Testors 'kits' ! But, it's less than half the price, as it's not from a model supplies outlet ! Bonus !!
 
Haven't a clue about copy and paste - being from the Graphics / Printing industry in my 'old' career, that term meant literally cutting out, copying on a process camera, and pasting onto a page format !
Anyway, the company is based in the UK, and it's Crafty Computer Paper, in Syston. Leicester. The price per A4 sheet is £1.55, and it's exactly the same stuff I bought packaged as 'Experts Choice' by Bare Metal Foil company, at around £3.60 per sheet !

My dad flew the H-43B Huskie in the US as well as in Korea (after the USS Pueblo Incident). Thought it would be cool to buil one for him. This is how far I've gotten:



The kit is an Old HAWK kit in 1/32 scale (and it's motorized), for an old kit it has been a lot of fun to build. Next step is to prime and then paint.

Yes shes an old kit but still scrubs up ok, had a little trouble with the fuselage being warped and replacing the radiator scoops, but I had it on the shelf and thought it was time I built it.
Not looking forward to putting the rest of the checks on, a bit scary watching the decals wrinkle with the setting solution and then drying smooth without wanting to touch them.

Nice one David ! That must be an impressive model in 1/32nd scale, and I didn't even know a kit was around, in any scale, even if discontinued. There are two aircraft I often wondered about, not having heard much about them, or not knowing of anyone who flew them. One is the Scorpion, and an American friend I met in the 1970s told me his father used to fly them, so I learned a bit when I met him, a retired Colonel. The other is the Husky, and now I know of someone who flew one !
It'd be good to hear a bit about the aircraft - what it was like to fly, how it was used and so on.
 
I've applied putty to the Constellation. and I'm in quite a predicament.....I've lost the windscreen to my VC-137C (boeing 707) and I can't find it, so I'm convinced I accidentally threw it away. it'll be hell trying to get a replacement. though if anyone here has any to spare, I'll PM ya my address. lol
 
I must be flippin mad after i said i would not buy another airfix kit what have i gone and done iv,e gone and bought one and its not something i would not normally build its the 1/72 scale concorde airliner. Oh well here goes once more into the breach.BB
