Thanks for the comments on concorde guys i think my next build will be a bit less stress inducing:lol::lol:

Here's one little project of mine, which I've been working on&off for some time now. It's Airfix Spitfire in 1/72 which I originally build a long, long time ago (when I was just a lad of some 10-11 years old). At that time I was satisfied with just building a model and applying the decals, disregarding painting and other steps of modeling process. Later I tried to add some camouflage paint, but to avoid the over-painting the already applied decals proved difficult and result was poor. Actually, when I think of it it's quite amazing that this model survived all these years of the shelve....

Anyway, recently I decided to try restore this model, this included new canopy and wings from spare parts with completely new and proper paint job. I've decided to make it with wheels up as I was unable so salvage the landing gear from old model and lacked any among spare parts. Still have to make a wooden stand for the model though. I will use a tailwheel from wrecked Corsair model, but this will require some modification for it is similar in shape but quite larger then on the Spitfire.

Here are two photos of current state of the model. Still some work to be done ahead...

(I know, tail band and spinner shouldn't be all white but rather in RAF "sky" color. Actually I was mixing some paints in an effort to achieve this color tone, but fearful not to overdone it I apparently made it to bright. But I'm satisfied with it though, so I'll leave it this way.)

Here's one more picture of the model before the paint job. Wing-fuselage joint required a lot of putty to fill the gaps as is seen on the picture...

Looking very nice Rob. But it seems you applied a little bit too thick layer of the gloss varnish. I know you use a brush for painting so a good soulution is to thin a little bit more the varnish before applying.
