yes there is. I have a loooong twist tie stripped of the plastic covering so it's just the wire. I hold it by that wire so I can properly paint without touching the model itself. I do it for every model, now.
Well, I've been away a while, moved halfway up England, spent a month living in a hotel and survived a week with the in-laws. But now SWMBO is away for the week, and I am definitely modelling seriously again 8) Here's a few piccies...
Airfix 1/72 Jaguar GR1.
Bought this off EBay ages ago. I started this yesterday afternoon and the pics you see here are about an hour old. All the 'dangly bits' are painted up and ready to go on as soon as paint and decals are on the fuselage.
And something totally new for me...
Tamiya 1/35 Chieftain Mk5
I've never done a big tank before, but this has gone together like a dream and has been massively enjoyable, a nice change from aircraft. Hull is complete and undercoated, turret is about 40% done, and then the whole thing will be painted as a vehicle of the BAOR in the late 70s\early 80s. With the Jaguar (of the same era) it will make a good pair of Cold War warriors 8)
Thanks for the comments guys. Just finished the Chieftain turret off, it will be undercoated in the morning when I get back from work. After that, it's paint, decals, tracks, side skirts, varnish and finito. Reckon I'll have it polished off before fetching the boss from the airport this weekend
