Yep, have them here too (the bigger cousin) - and I just had one dive-bomb me yesterday evening.
Aparently, my zig-zagging proved effective as no hit was delivered!

I've never been hit by a 737 so I have no reference to guide me. I have seen some very large bugs in south Louisiana. There have been reports of frogs tongues on mosquitos (not the planes) allowing the frog to be carried away by the mosquito (not the planes). Frogs and mosquitos (the planes) may be a nationality thing, though.

Female Purple Finch, methinks. Just put up this crow proof feeder and it seems to work. Had an American Finch in this morning but it had ignited the JATO bottles and was gone before I could get the camera
