My expert-turkey-hunting-buddy says this one is a Rio Grande. Easterns, Rio Grandes, and Mirriams in various parts of Idaho and Oregon. Easterns mainly in North Idaho, Mirriams in forested areas in Southwest Idaho, and Rio Grandes along the rivers. Wild Turkeys first brought to Idaho and Oregon in 1961. All have generally thrived and grown in number, with Mirriams being the largest population around here now.This pretty girl sauntered by while a buddy and I were fishing the Owyhee River in Oregon this past Thursday.
