Ok after leaving this one almost finished for far too long whilst i built other kits, i decided to finish this off before starting my next build.
Trumpeter's Vampire kit is much maligned here in the UK but the errors in the kit dont worry me too much, it looks like a vampire and i am no rivet...
Hi everybody,
on early december a purchased a Xmas presente for myself:
and after some research I decided to try to build the replica of this bird:
Why this subject? At least for two reason: I liked the muovie on Red Tails and there was a link with Italy as they were based in...
From the 1/72 Airfix kit. Not sure if the paintscheme is right, but unless I get another copy of the decals from this kit, I won't risk painting over the decals.
Thought this might be of interest. Link to a 52 page pdf covering 100 years of aircrew kit mostly RAF but covers some other kit as well

I thought this was the best place to post this as there is no " Start to Garbage can " section. All I can say is one miserable POS kit. I've built lots of Matchbox kits before and never had the problems I had with this. I'm sure a lot of it was just the age of the kit. Plastic was like glass...
Simple little basic Airfix kit. Plastic is in great shape. Decals not so great shape. I ordered a set from an outfit in England. Just Have to figure out what version to build. Got a small start on the landing gear with a bit of extra detail. The kit legs are essentilly...a stick.
Built this kit over the past few months. Great kit all in all. Now that I'm back in semi hibernation mode for the winter I hope to spend more time building !
This is my finished build on the large scale Trumpeter Trop. The kit in the box is actually a G-2 with a lot of modifications needed to convert it to a F-4, particularly the angled wheel wells in the kit, the incorrect canopy and various vents and hatches on the fuselage that needed...

This is the kit I bought at Duxford Air show a couple of Sundays ago. It's an interesting kit that should be screwed together(I won't be) but some gluing is required.
The office is very well detailed with but the moulding is a little crude. I will try and clean up most of the flash but they...
