Jan , I have found that there are markings of yellow 13 for Spad XIII WW1 fighter in Eduard no.1142 kit. I have thought you might be interested in.

Thinking that my Royal Class Fw 190A-8/R2 has been collecting dust long enough, I thought that I should look for a suitable subject for the two kits.
So, without any further delay, what do we know about these gentlemen, besides what's below?

02/01/45: Uffz. Josef Hener, 7. (St.)/JG 4 FW 190 A-8/R2, Wk. Nr. 682667, "yellow 13", combat, near Hagenau - Weissenburg, MIA.
25/08/44: Lt. Hans Schwarz, 6./JG 6 Fw 190 A-8, Wk. Nr. 171522, "Black 13", combat with P-38 near La Fère, MIA.
28/09/44: Uffz. Alfons Distelmeier, 3./JG 11 Fw 190 A-8, Wk. Nr.173038, "Yellow 13", near Arnhem - Nijmegen, MIA.
27. 09. 44 Lt Horst Preschel, 7.Sturm/JG4, Fw 190A-8/R2, Wk. Nr. 681290, "Yellow 13", shot down wounded.
19.12.44 Gefr. Karl Hagemann, 6.Sturm/JG 4, Fw 190A-8/R8, Wk. Nr. 682319, "Black 13", shot down in air combat over Wispertal wounded.

Does anyone know the identity and unit of the B-17, that was Walter Oesau's last and 117th victory, around the Vechta area I think 06.03.44?

Oesau had 127 victories and the 117th was a P-38.

He made 2 claims on 6-3-44, the first for a P-47 at 12:05, NW Vechta at 6,500m and the second a B-17 at 12:20 S Delmenhorst at 3,000m.

You should have a word with "Red Baroness" over on the TOCH forum, she's writing a biography on Oesau.

No worries mate. He was flying with Stab./JG 1 at the time. I assume you'll be building "Green 13" then? His last plane?

Um..other 13's? You'd have to ask Cori (Red Baroness) about that, she knows more about Oesau than Oesau did!


So... I like the idea of you doing "Green 13", which kit are you using for his Bf 109 G-6/AS?


The Werk Nummer was 20 601 if that helps at all for accuracy.
