The one I saw at Edwards had drip pans. Of course, it was in a hangar.

In the good old days if they needed to defuel an F-89 or something at a rural base in someplace like AK they just parked it off the hardtop and opened the tank drains.
Well to be honest the only time I was close up was preflight/launch at Det 1 Kadena and that as I say was ready to launch. A former chief I worked for invited me over for the launch. At that point no drip pans involved, jet taxied out and they used shop brooms and squiggles to flush it in the drain.
