Hello I am starting on a Hobbycraft 1/48 Bf 109 G-6 and want to do it as the plane in the NASM Wr No. 160756
BUT want to do it as it's scheme when Rene Darbois flew it to an allied base to surrender himself. I like the
tan and green scheme and read some where it was built as a trop. The article said the museum doesn't have
the trop filter, was it ever installed? OK so I will use the kits parts, any info or help with the trop filter would be most useful. Here's the kit and a picture of the original scheme, I think from a French magazine.---John

NOTE---I just found the name of the French magazine this image came from....it is
"Le Fana de l'Aviation" It is on the bottom of the image!!!! Silly me!

Looks like he painted the wing Balkenkreuz and dirtied up the fuselage and swastika decals. I may have "yellow 4"s in the decal stash but I'm at least 2 days from home. Probably some on else here has them as well

I have a LOT of 109 decals, thanks anyways. I think someone on another site
mentioned after market ones for this subject? Eduards? I really don't remember
but will search the web and my decal stash. Thanks again.---John

Thanks, I have the head armor and canopy installed along with the bulges
over the ammo breeches. The tear drop fairings have also been added to
the upper wings above the landing gear.---John

Anyone know what, if any, RLM colors were used for the tan and green camo scheme?
Or was it field applied with whatever was on hand?---John

It's a good move John, and as Geo says, that Hobbycraft kit looks very good.
What kind of scheme do you want to make?
Saludos

Thanks guys. Sancer I am going with the NASM Bf 109 G-6 original scheme when it
was turned over to the allies in July 1944. Tan and green. The Hobbycraft kit isn't all that
bad, not as detailed as Eduard but still no slouch. I would some day consider an Eduard
kit though. Here's the colors again. I believe this image is from the Eduard kit.---John

Thanks Fubar and Crimea. I am way over my head in projects so another kit is
out of the question. I am back logged until well into 2019!!!!. I have way too many
"irons in the fire". Then I have a ton of armor and vehicles, maybe sometime later
next year I can see my way clear, right now I have too much plus my life, wife,
grandchildren, house, yard work, vacation and exercising on my bicycle. Did I
mention my love for fly fishing?----John

I was checking out which type antenna mast when I noticed I had an
Erla Haub canopy. Big oooopppsssss! I have it off and am replacing
it now with the kits' early framed canopy. Sorry, it was originally ment
to be Hartmanns' plane.---John
