Really cool shot of that mill!!

Wouldn't it be cool to know the full story about that building...it looks like the millrace is long gone but the pond is still there. I bet it hasn't been used in a long time...

Nice shots, Aaron, well done!

The mill is known as White's Mill and is still in use though I believe they use electricity to power it now. There are some interior shots near the beginning of this thread that I took last November. And we purchase cornmeal from them on a regular basis. I'm not sure when it was built though, I'll have to do some research.:)

Here are some shots of the P-47 at last weekend's airshow. Most are detail shots for the modelers. Enjoy guys.

Thank you guys. I've been fighting with my computer for the last three days. I got a total of 26 updates on Thursday and lost a lot of settings that I can't get back. I have not tried to get into Photoshop yet. I'll keep my finger crossed though. Vista SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You got that right! Nice P-47 shots!

Thanks Eric and Harrison. She's based in Sevierville TN. I'm going to try to get down to the museum where she resides and get some more shots cause there's another one down there with an A1D6( I think I got that rite)Skyraider to.

Fantastic shots Aaron, Love the detail shots of the P-47 and the barn shots are great man. The mill wheel is fantastic, I'll be knocking on your door soon. You know you can get Windows 7, I just got all the bugs out of my vista so afraid to change to 7, maybe more problems. :D  :blob5::notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:

I have heard that there is an upgrade to Windows 7 from Vista and that it is free. One of the guys in the camera club is getting ready to upgrade. Depending on how painful it is for him I might try it.

I haven't been seeing any negative comments about Win 7.
All the reviews I have read say it's much better.
I am still using XP but I have heard they were going to stop supporting it soon, possibly as early as next year.

Cool shots of the Mill Aaron. :thumbright:
The water wheel on the side makes me wonder if a stream ran by there at one time or if they channeled water to the wheel ?

Wheels

As far as I know the wheel on the mill has not ever been moved so I would assume that the had a trough built from the pond to the wheel to turn it and I believe I remember seeing remnants of the trough system during a previous visit.

They stopped supporting 98 a few years ago, and my 98SE still runs like clockwork...I finally upgraded my main computer after they released SP 2 for XP...

As long as XP is patched and kept running clean, it should be good enough to last until they get all the bugs out of 7...I won't go to Vista, though...

There looks like a Millrace was attached to the mill, coming from above and to the right...it would have cascaded water onto the wheel at about the 11 O'clock position, as you're viewing the wheel.

Very cool, Aaron! Those are some nice close-ups of the Thunderbird, thanks for posting them. And who doesn't love an old mill shot? :) I was heading to a meeting in Abingdon week before last, missed my turn off and drove down Whites Mill Road a fair piece before I turned around...thats not Whites Mill, is it?

Have a good one, Derek.

Stunning close-up shots of the Jug Aaron. Want to save them to my external hard drive if you've no objection
:hotsun: :hotsun:
Feel free Vic. I have no problems with the folks here using them for reference.8)

Thank you Wayne, I figured you modelers might be able to use them. I just wish that I could recreate the sound of that gorgeous monster when she took off.:D
