Brutal low level collision

Has anyone seen this? I read it was stateside at a 1944 army air power demonstration. The planes might be A-25 Shrikes.

I first saw this footage in the movie "13 Rue Madeleine" with James Cagney. I always thought they were P-40's but this website confirms them being A-25's.
