The subject of this Group Build is the Early Model 21 N1K2-J "Shiden-Kai" flown by Lieutenant Naoshi Kanno, Commander of Hikotai 301 of the Elite 343 Kokutai , the Squadron of Experts in May 1945.

The model will depict Kanno's aircraft during May 1945 when based at Omura Airfield on Kyushu, where at this time sources claim that his aircraft carried 5 victory markings applied to the port side fuselage alongside of the Yellow Command Stripes and the "White 15" previously seen applied to the fuselage Hinomaru in April had been erased.

Profile 1 shows the White 15 marking within the Hinomaru followed by the known Photo of Kanno's Aircraft from April 1945 when based at Matsuyama Airfield.

Profile 2 shows the aircraft depicted in May 1945 when based at Omura Airfield and comes from eyewitness accounts regarding the kill markings and erased white 15.
