Lucky find Wayne. I do so hate it when a bit goes missing, it's so hard trying to stop the panic which sets in, which in turn clouds the eyes and makes it even harder to find what you're looking for.
 
Ain't that the truth! My wife knocked a box containing the parts for my Curtiss R3C-2 off my desk and didn't say anything. She picked up parts that she could see, so when I went to work on it the other day I was missing a stabilizer and the windshield. Found the stab, but the windshield... Well, I have extra material to make a new one, but it kind of dampened my enthusiasm on that one.

added the gunsight "tube" drilled out each end.... and dryfitted that canopy to check how it sits, will have to mask it and glue it in to place before painting. Also added the Louvered lower cowl intake section, this was a pain as all faces had to have their surfaces sanded smooth from the fine mould lines that were visible on each and every one!

I've built one aircraft with a telescopic gun sight and the sight came on the clear sprue. Paint everything but the ends and you're left with clear lenses. Gonna be a tough mask job to keep the paint away from the grill.

Just caught up with this whole thread. Fantastic work again Wayne. Looking at one of your threads all at once like this is like doing to a class in expert modeling!
 
Masked up the canopy today and then glued it in place, don't normally do this till the end...

Nice. I actually sequence my canopy like you just did so that I can work the seam as needed before paint goes on. Also provides a mask for the interior.
 
Nice work Wayne and for me an unusual step mounting the canopy at this stage. Normally for me its one of the almost last additions to the model.
 
I will sometimes put the canopy in place with blue tac and paint the lot, If the frame is the same color or camo runs across it.

Another fine example for us all Wayne.
But could you use a paint splattered piece of paper in the shoot? Just to make it look a little more realistic.
Just sayin.......
