This is my second entry into the Group Build! No real story behind this, other than that it was used to fly cover for the failed Operation Eagle Claw, the rescue of hostages in Iran, in 1980, however I won't be painting it like that. It will just look like a normal fleet aircraft would in the 1979/1980 period! I've heard nothing but good things about this kit, however this boxing of it has raised panel lines, which may cause problems when it comes to the seams.

Here are some pictures of both the Phantom I'm doing and just some general VMFA-323 Phantoms:

This is my Phantom, and it's a good thing I found this as the decals show it as not having the pod on the front of the tail, so I was going to remove it!

another great choice cory looking forward to this build a i have an F-4J in the stash!cheers

Good choice Cory and yes it is a great kit, I've a couple sitting on my 56 Sqn line-up which I put together last year, all fittings were good and for an out of the box build, it's a great kit. I also have the VF-51 Screaming Eagle that Jan posted on shelf as well, again Hasegawa kit.

Nice, I love the Phantom's I have one in my stash that I got for Christmas and I can't wait to build it. Seeing as how I'm not quite ready to build it I went out last night and bought a 1/144 Phantom to tide me over till I can get to it. I look forward to seeing what you do with yours.
