Thanks guys, I really appreciate the comments.

The first two pics show the canopy masked with blue painters tape to protect it from my file and sandpaper. The work with the needle file had been finished at this point.

The second two pics show it after smoothing things out with a 300 and 600 grit wet sanding.

Next step is to mount the pod to the wing center section.

Looks like you nailed that cleaning up Glenn, nicely done and boy if them masks don't work you and me are both going to be pi$$ed off somewhat, so I've got my fingers crossed for you.

looks great Glenn, first pic looks like ED209 from Robocop !!!!
Had to look that one up it's been so long since I've seen that movie. It does kinda look like it doesn't it!

Great work there Glenn, doing similar stuff myself filling, filing, sanding and rescribing.....
Plenty more to come!

Joined the bottom of the wing center section to the fuselage pod, then added the upper portions. The left side fit great, but I had to work on the right side to avoid a step. It was almost like the airfoil sections on the pod and the wing were slightly different. More filing and sanding before the booms go on. Oh the joys of limited run kits. Can't wait to start that Tamiya Mustang for the next GB!

Thanks Guys. Been thinking about the next step and am not 100% sure the tail booms should go on next. Maybe I should set the wings next and then go on to the tail. All the joints are just butt joints with no locaters what-so-ever. In fact the butt joints are so uneven that I will have to file the surfaces to get the proper alignment.
Did I say I enjoyed model making?
