Thanks all, Yeah Terry I guess my biggest complaint was and is the mega puzzle mentality put into the kit. I like detail as well as the other guy but it doesn't always have to be MORE THEN 500 PIECES in the kit. The Dragon/Cyber Hobby kit has all the detail and then some and it is not as complicated as this thing is. There are things on this that are one or two parts on the CH that are two to four items on this. If it needs to be that way, well so be it, but it just doesn't seem to be needed. The fit on the CH is better as well. Anyway back to the kit at hand. I mounted the aft gunners fuselage section and after mating the inner section to the cowl, Oh gee but it domes to high and too far in at the sides. time for some sheet plastic. I can file and contour it all out, figure it's better then bondo.
And then a file (more like a rasp) to make quick work of the miss match section and some sanding then as little putty as I can manage to clean it up. There will be mor pain with the wings. That being said, I do love this plane with all it's faults it is a very interesting subject. I know it looks bad now but this too shall pass.
Yeah, gotta tame the old beast. And still taming. It's not a '70s Monograph kit like their F-100, but it's got its moments. One engine chin went on with no issues, the other, well you can see. It's a kit and with a bit of holding your tongue in the right spot, it should look like a Bf 110C-1 when done.
Getting reasonably good at using card stock to fill gaps, good cause I've got more. Filled in the gap on the lower cowl and cleaned it up a bit. Matted the wings (lower side) will have to fill in the upper. Having fun with it now.
Then I'll have to work the back of the nacelles.
Thank, it's cleaning up fairly easily considering all the extra plastics I'm adding. My main desktop died and I'm working off my phone, so sorry if I scew something up on the post.
