I have taken CATCH 22 s suggestion of flipping two of the decals. I have put the flipped decals back onto the backing sheet and I am going to let them dry to see how they look. This should also allow some of the glue to coat what was the front of the decal.

I left the decals overnight and this morning it's hard to tell them apart. The flipped one is a slightly more matt texture but I am sure a coat of gloss will sort that.

Great fix, yes a gloss coat will seal the deal and all will be back to normal...

Got the transfers in place with a first coat of gloss. There's a couple of spots I will sand with 6000 grit cloth before I put the final varnish coat on.
