The early ones were all bare metal inside, including the cockpit. It was early 1940 there got paint. Imagine flying on a bright sunny day in a nice shiny cockpit.

Thanks for this little gem Don. Even though the one was the first cab of the ranks, I ain't changing from that lovely green and considering the old bird continued on to drop countless demo and experimental torpedoes, the chances are she may have had a repaint.

I've gone as far as I can with this one for the moment, I need some chromate green before I go any further and will hopefully pick some up while down in Melbourne for a few days next week.

As you can see the engine is fitted and I've not gone to much trouble over this one as once the cowl is on, little can be seen.

I'm stuck using a Tamiya mix for interior green now, XF-3/XF-5, a mix of 2/1. Turned out very nice

Many thanks Brian. Only got back from my little trip late yesterday and hope to get back to it tomorrow. Did manage to do a bit of chromate green spray this arvo and also changed the steps on one of the dollies.

Many thanks for the kind comments and interest gents. As you can see I'm back with the TBD and after a wee spray of chromate green in the right places, I got the main spar wing on and the folding parts assembled. With luck I'll be able to attack the remaining work on the floats before the major spray.
